General Information
The European HIV/AIDS & Infectious Diseases Academy (http://www.aidsacademy.org/index/) and The National Institute for Infectious Diseases “Prof. Dr. Matei Bals” (http://www.mateibals.ro/ ) are organizing the 6th National Congress HIV/AIDS, May 17-19, 2012. We wish this edition to reflect to a larger extent the international vocation of the Academy with a focus on Central European topics. Official letters of invitation will be provided by request to the registered participants. The European Society for Antiviral Resistance (ESAR) (www.esar-society.eu ) is endorsing the event.
The official language of the congress is English. Oral presentations and slides are to be made in
English.
The congress fee is 100 EURO (or equivalent in RON); tax free registration will be available on request for presenting authors. The participation fee for participants should be paid to the “Matei Balş” Foundation accounts:

Abstract submission
Participants are encouraged to prepare abstracts on the topics of epidemiology, co-infections, phylogeny, resistance and tropism, metabolic complications, neuroHIV;
submission is open starting January 1st, 2012. The abstract text will be up to 2500 characters, including spaces. No tables and charts are allowed. Stating a preference for oral or poster presentation is recommended,
but the final decision is made by the scientific committee. The time allowed for
oral presentation is 10 minutes. The poster dimensions are 90/120cm.
Venue and accommodation
The city of Sibiu (http://www.turism.sibiu.ro/index_en.php) will host the event. We trust that the cultural resources of the city will contribute to the success of our meeting. We intend to offer to those interested a cultural evening and a visit to one of the neighboring medieval fortified churches (http://www.fortified-churches.com/). Not least, the access to the congress is facilitated by the city being served by an international airport.
